We learned so much about raku firing as part of this workshop, including all-important cultural context that explains why it is done so quickly, and an explanation of why the position of head potter responsible for tiling the temple roof in Kyoto was held in such high prestige. Our tutor Tracey was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic in the technical and historical aspects of this subject, and delivered our class with fun and humour and has definitely inspired me to learn more. Thank you Tracey!
